How to fix a broken (flashing white or changing colors) LCD Computer Monitor / Screen

One way to fix this problem (white or colorful screen happens randomly). I got the monitor free from a guy on craigslist. It’s a 15″ Sony LCD. Works perfect except for when it has these monthly periods of turning bright colors. Really strange, because it can go for half a year working fine and then one second it can start doing this. Oh well, it was free!
