I’ve seen plenty of huge computer monitors that look alot like television screens, I’ve seen it on the Bad Girls Club, and the Real World, now I’m not sure if they are actual computer monitors or televisions that can double as a computer screen? So my question is, is there a television that can double as a computer screen?

yes, some tv’s have a pc jack on the back that you hook your computer too. But you can also use AV cables (the red, white, and yellow cables) if you have the right card in your computer.

I’m moving across the country. I’ve considered shipping it out to my new home but i’m worried it’s going to break. Any suggestions?

pack it in fragile shipping packaging.. make sure they use lots of layers of styrofoam at the ups/fedex store and mark it fragile.

Ill be using a Broadband connection/ desktop pcs/ windows xp. Do I need a router or a Hub is fine. At many establishments i find a Router in turn connected to a Hub..what kind of deal is this?

you do not want a hub you want a switch. your broadband network provider (ISP) will most likely provide you with the router at installation therefore you should only need to purchase a switch and plug the router into that switch along with all of your PCs. This means you will want a switch with more than 8 ports to include the router as well plus expansion (more PCs later on).

Hubs are bad. They are a shared resource and not secure and all traffic is broadcasted over all the ports simultaneously. if you have 8 PCs on a hub they will all compete for traffic causing what is known as collisions if more than one is trying to use the internet or copying from PC to PC. Only one device can send receive info at a time on a hub. A switch is called a switch because it does switching. It can specifically send traffic bound to specific ports only intended for that machine. Since a hub is shared you can actually sniff and see the traffic coming and going from all your computers. meaning computer A can can actually see computers B sending passwords if in clear text and sometimes even clear text credit card information.
