Cheap Laptop PCs Desktops

The specs are, quite frankly, horrible compared to the specs of "modern-day" computers. I wouldn’t pay more than $35. May I recommend purchasing a newer computer, with better specifications? Good specs for computers nowadays are:

300 Gigabyte (more recommended) hard drive

At least 2 Gigabytes of RAM

At least 256 Megabyte graphics card

I have an old hard drive form a windows 98 desktop computer, and i ran outta space on my new laptop. is it possible to use the HDD from the 98 PC as an external for my laptop?

Yes it is very possible. You will need an enclosure or a case for it and you should be able to just plug it in and you’ll be gtg.

So after some quick additions, before taxes or any possible shipping costs, that setup would cost you $881.92 to build yourself (roughly) and you would still have to overclock the i5. If anything you got an amazing deal.

I have a desktop, and my house is really crappy, and very often we lose power, and have to flip the breaker to turn the power back on on that side of the house….

Well I was just wondering that if the power went out, while the computer was turned on, and you had to flip the breaker to get it back on, if it would harm the computer? It is plugged into a power strip, among other things… But yea, would it harm the computer?

If it does harm the computer, what would it harm? I heard that it could corrupt your data, sometimes ruint hardware, and even corrupt your operating system, or not allowing your computer to boot up. Are these true? Thanks in advance for your answers…

It quite possibly could if you have no surge protection on it. As far as your initially breaker problem, you have a fault in your house wiring. Most likely too much crap on one circuit. You need to look into this. A good electrician may be able to help you quite cheaply as he may be able to re-route some of the circuits in the breaker panel.

i do not have too much knowledge regarding processors and ram and their power behind a computer. i know that basically the bigger the better but since im on a tight budget and cant afford the whole package, which would be a faster and more powerful computer?

For the processing power to work well with your system, you need RAM.
Also, how many GHz does the dual core have? The quad core?
Typically, the best choice in this equation would to be to go with the dual core.
If you’re trying to get more RAM, depending on what type you want, it isn’t that expensive. You could always buy some extra Gigabytes of RAM to put in.

I’ll suggest you reconsider upgrading. There’s limited upgrade potential for your system. You might be better sticking with your current system and saving a little more $$ and start building a new one.

You could start out with a ‘barebones’ system (better off building your own with quality parts) and moving over your disk drives, monitor, kbd mouse etc. Then as more cash is available. Pick up a new SATA drive, then a good video card, later a new monitor etc etc.

I’d be concerned that any $$ you put into your current system wouldn’t be worthwhile.

it depends on your computer if it has Sd slots some do and some don’t if you don’t then try a laptop or buy a usb Sd slot adapter you can find that at your local electronice store or try plugging in the phone itself with the sd card in it if you want to add music or something

I need to use a desktop computer to access my omnibook pc to clean and recover memory amongst other things. What is the best way to link both together?
