This series of three videos shows how to install Ubuntu Linux Desktop in Virtual PC. These instructions are demonstrated on Windows but apply to the Mac version of Virtual PC as well. The general technique is also applicable to current versions of VMWare.There are some tricks to getting Linux to work in Virtual PC and other virtualization software due to the default video depth settings in most Linux distributions. Why do it? To experiment, to learn, and for instructional purposes. Try before you (don’t even have to) buy. I would like to upgrade the ram memory in my Dell latitude C800. Should I buy the same as to my desktop PC or are they smaller in size?
They are in fact smaller to fit the small frame of a notebook computer. Try going to DELL’s website first so that you can check the specs of your laptop & see what type of RAM it uses & up to how many GB you can upgrade it to. If you’re laptop is still in warranty (with in 1 year from purchase), then call DELL so that they could assist you with the info you needed & ask them how much they sell it to.
