how come amd is the winner of the overclocking awards over intel right now for their quad/triple cores? they clocked the amd phenom II at 6.5 ghz and the intel i7 is clocked at 6 or 5.8 ghz.

i dont know. but price for price you get the same performance.
On paper 2 identical processor specs from Intel and AMD, the intel will be faster. but it balances out because the amd will be almost 20% cheaper. Meaning you can spend the saved money and buy a faster amd (which would be on par with the intel one)

yes but the AMD …
yes but the AMD processors are less powerful than their intel counter parts.
EG: if i have an AMD Dual core 3ghz and an Intel core 2 duo 3ghz the intel will ALWAYS be higher in benchmarks. Although the AMD will be cheaper.
