Why are the fonts on my home desktop computer different than the ones on my laptop? Both use Microsoft Office?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: home desktop computers

Both the desktop and laptop use Microst Home Office 2007, but my home computer has more fonts than the laptop. Why is this? Does anyone know how to get the newer fonts on my laptop?
For example, I have the fone "teen" on the home computer, but its not on my laptop?

Compare the fonts in Control Panel on each system. You can copy from one to the other by a thumb drive.

It’s because they’re different types of computers.

If your computer came from a factory they often install an extra package with lots of fonts that’s not included in microsoft’s standard font packages.

Be that as it may, there are countless websites out there that provide fonts for you to download. Seriously, they’re everywhere. And most of them are free.

Warning though: fonts are almost never called the same thing twice. That font on your computer might be called "teen" but when you start looking for it on a website it will be named something different. Just keep that in mind.

The good news: Font files are pretty basic – there shouldn’t be any issue in copying them over from your desktop to your laptop. Just find the font folder in the Windows directory, copy them to a thumb drive, and transport. Once you have them copied on the laptop, right-click them and hit the "install" option from the menu. That should be all there is to it.

Another warning: I don’t remember off the top of my head exactly where windows stores its fonts, so you may have to search a little for it or post another question.
