LGBT: Is this actually possible…?
Is this question Irrelevant to LGBT: Yes. But I live in this section when I’m online.

Is this an important question: Yes.

So, the question is long. But I could really, really do with some advice. If you don’t want to read all of it, look below. You can just answer the question.

Basically, is it possible to achieve what you want to achieve in life regardless of the things you’re surrounded by and with? (Feel free to answer the question without extra information, or read below for more). By things, I mean the people, the location, the daily negative events, and so on…

I live in a closed minded town, am surrounded by an equally closed minded family (they believe they’re open minded, but they’re far from it), and all I really want is to lead a simple, fun, interesting life (goal-wise, I’d like to reach University, but that’s a long time away and I’m trying to take each day as it comes), but really? What examples do I have? Try zero. It sometimes feels like there’s next to nothing I can do to improve my life. All I want from it is an interesting surrounding, friends, open accessibility to different opportunities. Just normal things, and yet, they all seem pretty surreal from my viewpoint.

I’m home schooled. I’m a very social person, but the people I went to public school with had minds of which were only concerned about things I personally found uninteresting. I’m not obsessive with everything "anti-teenager", because most of the things they chatted about were everyday stuff. But I just didn’t care what they were talking about. I tried to, but I really couldn’t bring myself to listen to another conversation about who the "hottest guy in the school" was.

Anyway, today, after completing my first day of work from home (I’m relying on my work, at the moment), take a really wild guess what happened? My mum decided to, out of nowhere, for the possible fourth time in the day, start a petty fight about something completely irrelevant. It ended in my work being creased, partially ripped and ultimately destroyed. I’m like some nut when it comes to work; I’m a perfectionist, so this was like something out of a movie. Just imagine lots of paper around the floor and an insulting commentator in the form of my older sister, of whom merely laughed and shrugged it off. I find that kind of sick, to be honest. I was left to clear the mess. Also, I wasn’t the person to start the fight or create the tree massacre.

It’s possible but it’s extremely difficult since people are so influenced by their environment. All you have to do is keep a strong mental state and not let the negative break you down. Don’t get angry at every little thing and use people as scapegoats, because if you get use to doing that, you’re just going to turn into someone who is socially incapable (prevalent in this generation) and in a social world, being a social animal, keeping a positive mental state and working your connections is important if you want to be successful, both financially and relationshipwise. Nobody wants to deal with difficult people so don’t be one yourself, don’t let your friends and family drag you down. Just keep working and get out of there, change your environment as quick as you can so it doesn’t sink in too deeply.

I mean I wouldn’t know how to change from a negative environment to a positve since my environment was mostly positive, to be candid. That’s why the world kind of sucks, because the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and the reason is usually environment. Like my parents have always supproted me financially and emotionally, teaching me how to deal with the world in both aspects. To get somewhere financially, you must make connections. To stay emotionally healthy, you must exercise and learn to rationalize why assholes are the way they are (usually it isn’t you, they’re just upset at something else), etc.
