Is it OK to plug/unplug my monitor between different computers while they are running?

I’m transferring allot of stuff between my old and new computers, but only have one monitor, it’s an old CRT, no flat screen until Santa’s spilled his sack, so to speak.
Is it doing any harm if I plug/unplug so I can work between comps without starting up/shutting down, leaving files shifting/downloading?

yes it will eventually
turn the monitor off then move it
but if you can network then using a ethernet cable
share the whole of old system can be done without a password
then set up the other and keep the monitor on that and just keep dragging your stuff over
