I want to upgrade my desktop computer (PC), pl tell me the best configuration (parts) I should use?
I have Intel Pentium D processor with 945 Mercury motherboard & 512 mb ram bought in 2007. I use my computer for graphic & web purposes , I want to upgrade my pc to run faster. So please tell me the best computer parts i should buy & the authorized shop in Mumbai where i will get that
I’ll suggest you reconsider upgrading. There’s limited upgrade potential for your system. You might be better sticking with your current system and saving a little more $$ and start building a new one.
You could start out with a ‘barebones’ system (better off building your own with quality parts) and moving over your disk drives, monitor, kbd mouse etc. Then as more cash is available. Pick up a new SATA drive, then a good video card, later a new monitor etc etc.
I’d be concerned that any $$ you put into your current system wouldn’t be worthwhile.

Pentium D? i assume its 2ghz processor…
512mb ram is a little low..upgrade for 2gb..at least 1gb..ur pc will go faster..
u should get dedicated graphic card at least 256mb…it should be enough for everything…
dedicated graphic is far more powerful than integrated graphic (integrated is that include in the processor) i reckon go for ATI or NVIDIA…

well pentium d is one up from the bottom of the line Celeron processors so i would suggest upgrading that, depending on the socket type if its LGA775 then i suggest getting a core2 processors, if you find them too expensive you can buy them second hand from shops like cash converters (uk) and they give you a years warranty, so that’s not bad…
secondly going on the basis that you use your computer for graphics i would upgrade to a dedicated graphics card and also upgrade the ram to atleast 1gb maybe 2gb and try to get the fastest compatible speed that can work e.g. 800mhz (budget ones are usually 500 something mhz) BUT DONT GO OVER WHAT YOUR SYSTEM CAN HANDLE !!!
you can get a awsome graphics card for its price on amazon.co.uk which is the nvidia 9500gt you can get loads for under £40 easy
