Please would like help to see if my Computer desktop PC was a rip off?
CPU i5 750 Overclock @4Ghz
Motherboard EVGA P55 SLI
4GB DDR3 1800mhz ram
ATI HD 5770
NZXT Mid tower case
700watt power supply SLI ready
500GB HDD
DVD-ROM
Paid $860 cash just few days ago. Was I ripped off?
Just to give you an idea I’ll list how much it would have cost you to get those components from Newegg (wherever I didn’t have specifics, I went on the cheaper side of components)
Intel Core i5 750 – $199.99
EVGA P55 SLI (cheapest available) – $159.99 (after rebate)
4GB DDR3 RAM (required for i5) – $109.99
ATI Radeon HD 5770 – $159.99
NZXT Case (not the cheapest either) – $49.99 (after rebate)
750W Power Supply SLI Ready (it’s not exact, but 700W ones cost the same anyway) – $109.99
500GB 7,200 RPM Western Digital Hard Drive – $69.99
DVD-ROM Drive/Burner – $21.99
So after some quick additions, before taxes or any possible shipping costs, that setup would cost you $881.92 to build yourself (roughly) and you would still have to overclock the i5. If anything you got an amazing deal.

It’s a good deal for a pre-built computer. You could have built a better gaming computer for the same price though. However, that shouldn’t have any problems running any games on high depending on the screen resolution.
For example, intel processors cost more money and are better for multi-media than gaming. AMD processors are cheaper and much better for gaming.
For 860$, you could have a ATI HD 5850 and Phenom II x4 955 3.2GHz (quad core).
