I just received this from Play.com and thought I’d try to do an unboxing. It looks really nice and has an overall high quality look to it. However, it only comes with a VGA cable, but I went and bought a DVI cable off Amazon for £2.80.

How-to Fix KDS K917s Model 900P LCD Computer Monitor Repair Screen Flashes Then Blank

In this narrated video I show you how to repair a KDS K917s Model 900P LCD Computer Monitor. It functions fine for hours then once computer is rebooted or power is turned off then on the screen comes on flashes the image then goes blank. If you leave it turned off for a while it will eventually come back on and work until turned off again. There are six 470uFd /25V caps and one 220uFd cap that should be replaced to get the monitor working again. Some of the caps may have vented so change all seven. I always use capacitors with 105°C rating so they will last longer than the 85°C rated OEM parts.

If you don’t know what you are doing I would not recommend you try this at home. Leave it to an expert.
